Many of my readers ask about alternative treatments for perimenopause symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time – to date anyway – to research them as much as I would like. However, I recently received an email from Dr. Mary Tagliaferri, an MD and practitioner in traditional Chinese medicine.
Dr. Tagliaferri has developed her own menopause formula as an alternative to hormone therapy for women who can’t, or do not want to take hormones for their perimenopause symptoms.
Dr. Tagliaferri was generous enough to send five bottles of her formula for me to giveaway to interested readers. So, I would like to kick-off a short-giveaway for five winners who would like to try the formula. If you are interested in knowing more about Dr. Tagliaferri and her product, you can check out her site here at Dr. Tags.com.
I’m also including some of the email Dr. Tagliaferri sent discussing the development of the product. I thought you might find it interesting and worth you while to read. It has been edited but the context has remained.
I have been researching traditional Chinese herbs for women’s health and cancer for 20 years. In my earliest days before completing medical school at UCSF (University of California at San Francisco), I was a hands-on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner, transforming the ancient tenets of Chinese medicine into modern medical solutions for my patients.
By age 30, I was a breast cancer survivor and I decided to dedicate my life to researching TCM botanical agents for cancer and women’s health. I became a Founder of one of the first integrative medicine programs at a major medical center (University of California, San Francisco). With the help from government grants and excellent guidance from my world-class mentors, we amassed impressive scientific data to build Bionovo.
We, as an integrative scientific team, were successful in our drug development endeavors evaluating potential drugs derived from TCM for breast cancer and menopausal symptoms. We never failed clinically or scientifically to justify the utility of our botanical formulas for breast cancer and women’s health.
MF101 was an estrogen receptor (ER) beta agonist derived from 22 botanical agents. The advantage we see to an ER beta agonist is that it can positively effect the estrogen receptors in the brain that control thermoregulation but the ER beta agonists we have tested from botanical agents do not increase the risks for breast and uterine cancer.
This is because there are little to no ER beta receptors in the uterus. In breast tissue, our team has shown that ER beta acts as a tumor suppressor. We believe strongly in the scientific progress we made in the field of botanical research for women’s health and in order to provide women with a safe and effective alternative to hormone therapy, we launched a new dietary supplement line.
Our new formula, Dr. Tagliaferri’s Menopause Formula includes 9 of the most potent ER beta botanical agents, combined with Chinese yam to create a new formulation that is also an ER beta agonist.
If you would like to enter your name into the giveaway, please leave a comment here on this post, or you can leave a comment on my Facebook page which you can find here.
I will announce the winners on Friday via video!
