I’m slow keeping up with my blogging these days, dear readers. I apologize.
I am having a tough time juggling the many balls I have in the air and well, I haven’t figured out how to keep from dropping a few of them. But, I’m back now.
I left you here, with a post on estrogen dominance and a new bio-identical progesterone that I ran across and planned to use called Oasis Serene.
After months and months of these gawdawful, flooding periods complete with soft-ball sized blood clots, (that may be TMI for some of you……sorry), I decided it was time to do something.
I have mentioned often that I am on the backside of perimenopause and closer to actual menopause than not. But, I’ve been in the “ride it out” mindset, hoping that when I finally get to menopause, I would have survived and the symptoms abated.
Well, the heavy, flooding periods just became too much for me. Not only are they utterly and completely draining, but every time I get one I get royally pissed. Not in a mood swing kind of way, but in a “I’m sick of this shit, damn it” kind of way.
Believe me when I say, I’m T-I-R-E-D of perimenopause.
One of my personal concerns with using bio-identical hormones this late in the game is that I would end up cycling again and well, who wants that???? After asking a couple of doctors about this and reading a bit more, I’ve learned that I could use just enough of the hormones to feel better, but not promote menstrual cycles again. So, amen sistahs…..I’m all for that.
I read an excellent review on Oasis Serene and decided to give it a try. Like most bio-identical hormones, it’s not cheap. But, I’m of the mindset that you have to weigh the benefits with the cost.
Though I don’t like to spend close to $50 for 2-oz, my physical wellness and certainly my outlook on life is worth every stinkin’ penny. So, that’s my take on the cost. You, my menopause sisters will have to weigh the cost/benefit ratio for yourselves.
My plan is to experiment with Oasis Serene for a few months to see if I feel better and most importantly, if it helps with the heavy periods. I used it faithfully according to the directions for the first month and reported at the time of my last post, that I genuinely felt better in just two short weeks of using it.
Of course, I do not know if it was the psychological placebo effect, but I honestly think I did. Anyway. I was scheduled to get my flooding period 7 days ago. As of this writing, I haven’t gotten it.
PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE AMMUNITION!!!!!
I am scheduled to begin another round of progesterone tomorrow and will proceed with my personal experiment. I will report back as to how things are going, how I feel and what I think about this product.
I will tell you now though, that I’m highly impressed with the quality of Oasis Serene. If you are interested in trying a bio-identical progesterone but don’t know where to begin, I would strongly suggest that you consider their product.
You can check them out here or find it in my sidebar. Please be advised that I receive a commission from Oasis Serene. However, I am actually using the product and I’m giving you my honest opinion on what I think about it.
I also plan to get off my 53 year old butt and get back to blogging more regularly. My ADD is showing, I know.
Perimenopause and adrenal fatigue will be my next post. Look for it soon.
Till then, menopause mavens.
