Female Brain Gone Insane – A Book Review

Post image for Female Brain Gone Insane – A Book Review

I have a book review posted on the book Female Brain Gone Insane: An Emergency Guide For Women Who Feel Like They Are Falling Apart by Nurse Practitioner and author, Mia Lundin at my other blog, The Magnolia Diaires, Volume II

Rather than duplicate the content here at The Perimenopause Blog, I thought I might link you over there to the post here.

Mia sent me a copy of the book for my review and after reading it I thought it would be very beneficial for anyone who is in the thick of perimenopause (like so many of us are). If you are interested in purchasing a copy of  Female Brain Gone Insane: An Emergency Guide For Women Who Feel Like They Are Falling Apart I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.  It’s an excellent read with outstanding and up to date information on how to help, manage and live with your perimenopause.

Go check it out!

Dear Magnolia

as you said, I am in the thickest thick of perimenopause and have been reading your blogs since the beginning. I just never had the nerve to comment, since I felt I had nothing to say, I think now I do, after seeing it on your website a went ahead a bought Mia Lundin’s Female Brain Gone Insane: An Emergency Guide For Women Who Feel Like They Are Falling Apart. Read it from cover to cover and found myself in 90% of the pages and I know I am not alone! since 39 (I’m 43 now) I spun out of control, out of the blue, out of nowhere, …what the hell was happening to me? after many doctors, antidpressants, sleeping pills , mood swings from hell and the list goes on for pages, much like you I thought ” this is it, this is what crazy feels like” all my search, doctors with no answers, with wrong answers, God and you have led me to Mia Lundin, her book has given me dare I say? HOPE! She speaks from the heart, she holds your hand and you believe when she writes in many different words, there is a way out of this. I have communicated with her and she offers phone consultation with her, and this woman GETS! perimenopause, from the inside out, to the point where she knows what you’re going to say next. I did not think this possible , but I actually think, now I might make it to the feisty side of fifty! To any lady outhere feeling INSANE, EXHAUSTED, PIST OFF, ENRAGED, and just plain FRIED! This book has brought me the knowledge that , oh God, I would’ve loved to have found 4 years ago!
Thank you Magnolia for creating this outlet and for being one of my guardian angels, your wise and humorous and very truthfull words have carry me through many an anxiety ridden, depression filled, exhausting days. And I might just keep on trucking , knowing that , this actually can be survived, by me and my loved ones. Thank you for this, I am sure you will never know the good that you do with these blogs. Thank God for Mia Lundin, I can now conceive of a light at the end of this frustrating tunnel.

Hello EB,

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. It makes me very happy and gives me a lot of satisfaction to know that people are actually receiving help from my blogging.

I’m pleased with the Female Brain Gone Insane book as well. I think Mia does an excellent job in laying out what the issues are, what causes them and more importantly, what we can do about it.

I felt so helpless and powerless during the worst of my symptoms 5 to 7 years ago. I only wish I had found her book back then as well. So, you have a leg up on me in that you actually have someone who can help you. I was just throwing everything at the situation I could think of and never felt I was getting the kind of help I needed.

I wish you well and hope you will come around and comment more often. We all need to hear how others are doing and this blog can certainly be a place that you can dump your misery and frustration as well. Being able to speak and feel that you are being heard and understood is very, very helpful.

Thanks so much for bravely speaking up! ;)

Magnolia
